You have already gained a certain degree of comprehen- sion of the Dutch language. Having simple conversations such as a neighbourly chat about the weather or filling in your personal details are relatively easy. In this course you will improve your Dutch language skills further. At the end of the course your Dutch language skills will be sufficient for you to continue with the staatsexamen Nederlands als tweede taal. THE END RESULT Once you have passed the complete exam you will receive the diploma Dutch as a second language. is diploma will prove that your Dutch language skills are su_ cient to practise certain professions and to pursue most vocatio- nal training courses. TWO LEVELS There are two levels: State exam Dutch as a second language (NT2) Programme I and State exam Dutch as a second language (NT2) Programme II. Programme I is not set up as preliminary training for Programme II. You will either follow Programme I or Programme II. Which one you choose depends on the level of education you have had and what you intend to do with your diploma. Programme I This programme is intended for people who wish to fulfil a job position at an intermediate level and therefore are planning to follow a professional course at, for instance, NTI MBO-College. With this course you will attain lan- guage proficiency level B1 of the Common European Framework. Programme II This programme is intended for those who wish to hold middle or higher management positions. To achieve this you will need a degree from a school for higher vocational education (hbo) or university, for instance at Hogeschool NTI or NTI University. With this course you will attain language proficiency level B2 of the Common European Framework. Previous qualifications No specific previous qualifications are required.
